Payment Details
We accept payment by cheque, bank transfer, and Visa Debit. We also accept payment by Mastercard and Visa credit cards but have been forced to make a 3% surcharge on balance payments with these cards. There is no surcharge for paying the deposit by Mastercard or Visa, just the balance payment.
Cancellation
As our chairs are hand crafted to order, a cancellation will result in the loss of your deposit.
Delivery
We charge delivery at cost – whatever the courier company charges us is what we’ll charge you, plus our packaging costs to ensure your Scapa Crafts Orkney chair reaches you in perfect condition.
Delivery and packaging charges are dependent on your address and accessibility.
You’re also welcome to collect your chair in person from our Kirkwall workshop, or you can arrange collection and delivery yourself.
Delivery within mainland UK – We work with Kirkwall based delivery experts, McAdie & Reeve, trusted couriers of our Orkney chairs.
We’ll contact you to inform you when your chair has been collected by our courier. Thereafter, McAdie & Reeve will remain in direct contact with you until your chair has safely reached your home. Cost of delivery depends on your address and on the carrier used.
Delivery to Northern Ireland and EIRE – We contract in a carrier for you.
Delivery to Europe – This may be either by road or air freight depending on your address.
Delivery to Canada, USA, New Zealand, Australia – We use a global airfreight courier. Your chair is sent by our local couriers to the global courier’s UK depot. The global courier then arranges to send your chair to international airport closest to you and then on to your address. Cost varies according to country and airport and the chair you order. The rate for hooded chairs is higher due to increased height and weight.

Insurance is included in your delivery costs.
Your chair should arrive in perfect condition. If your chair does not, please contact us immediately.
